Splendid! I have forsaken you…

August 27th, 2007

I wrote this post on 8/24/07, but the silly connection at the Starbucks I was at wouldn’t allow me to post this. Anyway, here it is!

——————————————————————————————————————————————

Well I am “winding down” (if that’s possible) on a summer filled with fun and travel. In my previous post(s), I described all the crazy places we’ve gone to. Now, I’m on my final trip of the summer. The past few days I was in BEAUTIFUL Seattle… Sigh. Got to see family & friends and drink espresso at my favorite coffee shop, Espresso Vivace. Sweet bliss. Now I’m in Portland, the Pearl District to be exact, waiting for my mom’s flight to get in. Beautiful weather all around. They don’t know how good they have it here! Well perhaps they do, but coming from 110 degree weather… I have a different perspective, I suppose. We’re going to head up to Mt. Hood for a cousin’s wedding  at a ski lodge. Should be just plain fun.

I hope to pick up my blogging again.. I’m sure I will because, there’s a tortilla in the oven! That’s right. She’s havin’ a baby! Me, that is. We’re going to become a family of 3 sometime in Jan or Feb 2008! Praise God! Brent and I could not be more excited. And now that I’m in my 2nd trimester, I’m WAY excited.

Anyway, this fall brings on PodCampAZ. Yikes, we have a lot of work to do for that. We’re also rescuing our business again… something we do every fall after a long summer of running a youth program at our church full-time. Let’s see… maybe I’ll slow down a little because the belly is getting bigger?? Nah.

Better put more change in the slot machine… oops, I mean the parking meter. (Where am I anyway?)

Blessings to you!

CONGRATULATIONS, a baby, yippee - little spores!!! Okay, sorry, I’ll stop.

Oh, I love reading your writing! I’m now hooked on your blog :).

My favorite book was the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy (unfortunately, I just gave it away. Otherwise, I would send it to you!) Also, the American Academy of Pediatrics “Caring for Your Baby and Young Child, Revised Edition: Birth to Age 5″ (you’ll probably hear about BabyWise, most people either love it or hate it). I discovered that the A.A.P. recommends the same stuff, but they have a gentler approach than BabyWise (re: putting them down awake - AAP recommends starting that at 6 weeks; and feeding, every 2-3 hours (early on) during the day and then letting them sleep as much as they want to at night - definitely seemed to help the most with getting on a daytime/nighttime routine. Okay, enough soap-boxing. :)
