I’m auctioning off a hoodie…...

I’ve put up a really cool hoodie to auction off for a children’s no-cost day care in Mexico. It’s actually an amazing place that helps keeps families together who otherwise would have to give their children to the state (orphanage). I’ve been working with them the past couple of summers. Cadie made her first trip to Mexico this past summer so that we could work there! It was a great experience. Anyway, their URL is: OpenArmsMexico.org. Oh and here’s the link for the...

Chocolate you can feel good about...

Firstly, if you have a few minutes, you’ve got to read this article in the NY Times: When Chocolate is a way of life. Monica Kramer recently sent Brent and I an email (and link to that article) about those cacao bean farms in Ecuador. Here’s an excerpt from her email: I saw this article in the New York Times and thought of you…  It’s the little guys like this who can benefit from the the social media services your company offers so I thought I would pass this info along… Wouldn’t it be great if they could do weekly video broadcasts...

Peace On Earth...

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts today just for a few minutes. It’s by Ravi Zacharias, a Christian apologist who travels around the world and speaks at open forums in universities, to influential politicians and business people, and at churches. I only listened for a couple of minutes (it was to & from Cadie’s swim lesson), but he asked the question, “What would someone look like if they were at total peace?” He proceeded to tell a story of a friend of his that he traveled with once. The airlines lost their luggage after a very...

So, did you know that Merriam-Webster’s “Word of the Year” for 2007 was “w00t”? As you may know it’s an interjection “expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word ‘yay.’” Yep, you spell it with the double zeros. So hilarious. I know Brent’s been saying “woot” for the longest time on Twitter (I’m sure I’ve done it too), but who knew that it would win a word of the year contest? Was it rigged? Did someone Twitter a thousand of their friends to...

Plain Jane?...

One of the many reasons why I am so happy to have a daughter is because my family is full of amazing women. I love the fact that there is another wonderful female in our family, and she’s only 9 months old! The women in my family are intelligent, strong, creative, they hold tightly to their faith, and they love to laugh. We’re not the bra-burning sort of ‘strong’ women. These women love to teach others how amazing the world is and how every person can make the world even more beautiful in their own particular way. So I am inspired to write a brief blog post...
