About
Hello y hola! My name is Michelle Spore (formerlly Murillo), and I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. I lived in Arizona (north Phx/Scottsdale area) for 18 years and just recently moved to the Seattle area! I don’t miss the 118 degree weather, but I do miss my friends/family down south. Anyway, welcome to my blog of splendid things!
I think that sometimes I get so busy, I forget to appreciate all the amazing things God has created – people, nature, science, history, theology, philosophy, video games, etc.! So I hope to put things in perspective here on this blog without getting too out of control with my introspective tendencies.
I have an amazing husband who is brilliant and wonderful. His name is Brent Spore. We met in 1993, and married in 2004. An amazing story that I do not have time to write about presently. But ask me about it later. Lots of people would love to crack open Brent’s brain to understand all that goes on in that head of his – he sees life from such an amazing viewpoint and is constantly thinking of new ideas… then he implements those ideas. Quite rare indeed. However, I would like Brent’s head to remain intact. He’s my best friend, by the way. [ www.brentspore.com ]
January 26, 2008 – My daughter was born. Her name is Cadence Elizabeth and she has stolen our hearts. Check out all things Cadie here: CadieSpore.com.
Brent and I have had a small web/graphic design business which in turn runs a myriad of projects. It keeps us on our toes!
I love seeing life through other people’s eyes. Growing up in the SF area certainly helped with that. And, I have had the honor of traveling to many, many different countries. I’ve run into many humbling, learning experiences, which I am so thankful for.
I wish to finish my graduate degree someday from a really cool theological school. Hmmmm.
I love reading and history and theology and reading history and theology. But I really keep God as the central character of all that I read. What were our founding parents really thinking when they said that all were CREATED equal? What was God wanting Americans to accomplish during the progressive movement in the early 20th century? Why was the American church of the 1950s so disconnected from the Christ’s teachings in the Bible? How was the Jesus Movement affected by the chaos of the 1960s? How did the American ‘founding fathers’ and mothers justify slavery when they were also adamant about adhering to biblical principles? And so on…
I am currently writing a screenplay. More on that when the time is right! But I have written plays for the stage in the past (and 1 screenplay about a million years ago), and I really enjoy doing that. So, hopefully my transition to the screen will be almost flawless. Ha! We’ll see about that.
Brent and I love working with teenagers. We’ve worked with youth groups for many, many years helping them figure out this life!
This does not begin to cover all that I am interested in. However, I mainly just want to discuss the splendid things of life; Because life is truly splendid when it’s really, really lived.
