House woes
Here’s an update on what’s g0ing on around the house!
Number 100!!!!
Welcome to my 100th post here at SplendidLittleBlog.com! I’ve been blogging here off and on since 2006. Can’t believe I reached 100! Hooray.
So, off the top of my head, here is a brief list of things that are splendid at 11:15 at night:
My husband… He’s smart, cute, and likes me too. He runs iBoughtAMac.com & about a million other things online. But I’m just glad he’s my best friend and husband. Nice.
My daughter. Wow, she’s a cute one, and I just love getting her to laugh. We laugh a lot. Still haven’t slept through the night yet, but I’ll get over it. I forget all about it when she smiles at me. Check her out at CadieSpore.com.
My Starbucks drink. It’s 3 shots of espresso over ice with 1 pump of mocha. I like it because it’s a great blend of coffee and chocolate flavor. The drinks not for the faint of heart, but it’s yummy and cost effective too!
Viddler.com. I really do love the services of Viddler. First, it’s not tacky like YouTube, at least it’s not in my opinion. You can store all the videos you can upload! And you can write comments in the timeline. I love that part because I like writing corny comments on my friend’s videos. And I’ve met a few of the guys at Viddler and they’re way cool.
Sleeping through the night. You’ll never appreciate sleeping through the night more until you’ve had a baby.
Earl Grey Tea. I love the flavor of Bergamot. I think this tea flavor reminds me of one of my first office-receptionist-type jobs. It was always freezing in the office, but when I made this tea, it warmed me up, and made me feel so much better. Gotta have it with cream.
The Philippines. I’ve been there 3 times, and is there a country with friendlier people? I don’t think so. It’s so easy traveling around too because most people in the cities speak English. It’s beautiful, tropical, and fun.
My diva friends. I’ve got this group of girls that I call my diva friends. We’ve known each other since we were 19. In fact we were all roommates at one point in a crazy house. Now we’re all spread out over the country, but we all keep in touch. We laugh, cry, and get in heated political discussions a lot. I get to see my California friends more than my east coast ones. But whenever I feel alone in my experiences, I stop myself and think about these amazing women. They’ve all got some strength and wisdom that I need, and they’re always there to listen and/or advise. They’re amazing.
Garlic and onion. You can really make your house smell great when you start cooking with these. And, they’re really the foundation to so many yummy meals.
Tempur-Pedic bed. Brent’s parents bought us one for our wedding gift. I’ve been thanking them ever since. Now I can hardly sleep in hotels because I’m so used to this awesome bed at home.
Lux coffee shop in Phoenix. Although it’s borderline snobby (as in if you don’t have a Mac there you look sort of out of place), but their coffee is amazing and it’s a cool environment.
Vivace Coffee Shop in Seattle. Hands-down my favorite coffee shop. There are so may great things about it, but I won’t bore you.
Well I’m beat, so I think I’ll stop for now. Maybe I’ll do another splendid list soon. That would be cool.

Jessica Rust of Rust Designs creates simple and unique personalized dinnerware. I love her stuff. The website describes her artistic perspective as “a combination of fluid organic form and clean, intuitive function.” I’ve actually ordered one thing off of her website, but I’ve ordered it 3-4 times. The first order was for me (ha ha!) and the others were gifts. They are these really pretty mugs that are in the “Birch Tree” collection (see the above pic). There are four mugs, each symbolizing a different season. An added bonus is that you can personalize the ‘carving’ in the tree on the mug with initials and a date. So, you guessed it, perfect for anniversaries and weddings. Anyway, if you’re at a loss for what to get people for Christmas, I totally recommend Rust’s stuff.
