Wow!

Holy cow, it’s been forever since I’ve posted something on my blog. My how time flies.

Some Cadie updates… She’s finally sleeping through the night! Now THAT was a very hard task for Brent and I to tackle. It took about 4 long nights, but it was awesome how she finally started sleeping on her own. We were totally praying that she would get it, and she finally did! Whew. We call it our “Spore Sleeping Method.” There are so many opinions out there on how to get your kid to sleep through the night, but none of them seem to totally fit our lives and our style. So we came up with our own way. Pretty cool. Anyway, Cadie is walking around everywhere, pushing her boundaries (in a good way) all the time. I love it. She’s got some really cool teeth, and her laugh is unbelievable. Check out Brent’s Flickr to see some great pics: flickr.com/iboughtamac. Finally, Cadence turned 1 on January 26th! Woo hoo! We had a great party here at our house with friends and family.

Brent’s busy, busy, always working, working. But he’s got a lot of dreams and aspirations that he’s constantly working towards. So that keeps him (and us!) going all the time. I love my husband! He’s really the best.

Random fact: We won a 1 night stay at a local resort. We’re gonna do it next week. I made sure that we don’t have to sit through a 90 minute session listening to some sales pitch about vacation home crap. But supposedly I get a free massage out of the deal. Let’s hope it’s a nice mini-break!

I wrote another comedy/play that’s going to take place this Friday. Yes, the day before Valentine’s Day. We do this fund-raiser dinner-theater thing for the youth group every year. I know, dinner theater sounds sooo silly and dumb. But people love to laugh and they keep coming back for more. This year’s play is about super heroes who’ve been in retirement and who are at a conference to impart their wisdom to some “wanna-be” super heroes. Somehow they all end up loosing their powers, but in the end, it all works out. We’ve got legends like Superman, Batman and Spiderman in it along with some villains – Dr. Doom, Magneto & the Joker… of course! Somehow I managed to get a “Sham-Wow” like commercial in there as the sponsor of this fictional event. My friend Sean totally did a great Vince impersonation. We called it “Stain Wow” and we’re going to show the video/commercial during the play. Silly, I know.

Other randomness…

I’ve signed up for 12 Seconds. Sort of like Twitter but with Video. I don’t know if I like it yet. You have to keep your video under 12 seconds. I think it takes me 12 seconds to even start a sentence. But we’ll see.

Somehow recently, a lot of people that I know have gone to the hospital for some serious things. Brent and I are holding them all up in prayer. People who are too young to be going through this sort of pain. And also one of our parents is going through a rough time being couped-up in a physical rehabilitation facility for 6 weeks. Yuck. On top of a recession, this is another thing that we pray for.

It finally rained here in Phoenix! I even saw a snow-capped hill today too. We had some in December, but have really been without up until now. So, it feels like winter again for the time being.
